Boys – 19 Years & Under – Association Fixtures
ISA v AAGPS at St Pius X College playing fields Oxford Falls
Combined AAGPS 8 for 142 (Jack E 3-25, Cooper S 2-20) defeated ISA 9 for 121 (Cooper S 32, Archie W 25)
A rain effected match turned into a competitive 30‑over‑a‑side contest, with the ISA team producing a strong effort in the field. Holding AAGPS batting line‑up to under five runs an over was an impressive achievement, thanks to sharp fielding and disciplined bowling from pace duo Cooper S and Jack E, along with a tight four‑over spell from left‑arm spinner Lochlan S.
With the bat, Archie W set a solid platform at the top of the order, highlighted by a towering six over fine leg. Cooper S followed up his bowling performance with a confident 32 from 38 balls, including two big sixes, keeping the home side in the chase. Despite their efforts, regular wickets slowed the momentum, and the AAGPS spinners made scoring increasingly difficult as the innings progressed.
The ISA side showed determination throughout the rain‑affected match and can take plenty of positives from both their bowling discipline and moments of power with the bat.
ISA v CAS at Waverley College playing fields Queens Park
Combined CAS 5 for 244 (Lochlan S 2-41) defeated ISA 164 (Oliver F 55, Hamish M 34)
A hot and humid Sunday set the scene as the ISA team fielded first after losing the toss. Despite the challenging conditions and a strong CAS batting line‑up on an excellent pitch, the players worked hard to keep the scoring under control. Lochlan S delivered an impressive 10‑over spell, while Hamish M bowled tightly and without luck across his full allocation.
Chasing a formidable total, ISA found themselves under pressure at 5/62, before captain Oliver F and Hamish M combined to double the score in a positive and determined partnership. The momentum continued when Jack E struck two big sixes during a 39‑run stand with Hamish, putting the team in a promising position.
However, a late collapse saw wickets fall quickly, leaving ISA short of the target with more than 15 overs still available. Despite the result, the team showed resilience, skill, and moments of real promise in tough conditions.
