Representative Season Wrap‑Up
The 2026 ISA Girls Hockey Representative season showcased the talent, commitment and sportsmanship of student-athletes from across ISA member schools, with strong performances at the NSWCIS Championships and several players progressing to higher representative honours.
A total of 38 students trialled for selection across the 15 Years & Under and 19 Years & Under teams, with participation levels remaining strong and an increase in the number of schools represented at trials. The selection process provided athletes with valuable opportunities to demonstrate their skills, with an extended trial format allowing selectors additional time to assess players before teams were finalised.
NSWCIS Championships
The ISA 15 Years & Under team enjoyed an outstanding championship campaign, going undefeated across five matches. The team recorded victories over CSSA (2-1), NCIS (2-0) and RAS (1-0), while drawing with AICES (0-0) and IGSA (1-1). Finishing equal first on points, ISA was ultimately awarded second place after goals for and against were calculated. Despite narrowly missing the title, the team demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience and support for one another throughout the tournament.
The 19 Years & Under team also competed strongly, recording a hard-fought 3-2 victory over CSSA and finishing third overall at the NSWCIS Championships. While the team faced challenging opponents in IGSA and AICES, the players represented ISA with determination and professionalism across the tournament.
Further Representation
Several ISA athletes were rewarded for their performances with selection in NSWCIS teams. Rosemary D (Chevalier College), Amelia R (Redlands) and Arabelle T (Chevalier College) were selected in the NSWCIS 15 Years & Under team, while Matilda C (Chevalier College) and Emily W-M (Barker College) earned selection in the NSWCIS 19 Years & Under team. Further recognition followed for Arabelle T, who was selected in the NSW All Schools 15 Years & Under Girls Hockey Team.
The opportunity for players to train, compete and connect with peers from across the association continues to be a significant strength of the ISA representative program. ISA congratulates all players, coaches, managers and officials involved in the 2026 Girls Hockey Representative season and thanks convenor Mrs. Kim McNaught for her leadership throughout the campaign. We look forward to building on this year’s success in 2027.
