ISA Winter Sport Finals Wrap-Up

The ISA Winter Finals on Saturday 23 August were a true celebration of school sport. Students across Football, Netball, and Hockey delivered exciting contests, showcasing talent, teamwork, and school pride.

Football Finals

The ISA Football Finals produced a day of thrilling games and memorable moments across boys’ and girls’ competitions.

The headline match saw St Patrick’s College Strathfield cap off a strong season with a commanding performance against St Pius X College. Their 1st XI combined attacking power with defensive resilience to claim the Opens Division 1 title.

St Patrick’s also impressed in the younger divisions, winning the 16s and 14s Division 1 titles. The 15s final was one of the day’s most dramatic encounters, with Oakhill College edging out St Patrick’s in a tense penalty shootout after a deadlock in extra time.

Barker College celebrated a double success, with their 1st XI crowned Opens Division 1 champions and their Junior A side also securing a dominant win in the Junior Division 1 Final.

The boys’ competitions featured strong performances from Oakhill, Blue Mountains Grammar, Oxley, Central Coast Grammar, and St Spyridon, with many finals decided by penalties. St Augustine’s enjoyed multiple wins in the junior age groups, while St Patrick’s collected titles across several divisions.

In the girls’ competitions, Barker and Blue Mountains Grammar led the way in senior divisions. St Paul’s Grammar and St Spyridon also took home silverware, while Central Coast Grammar and St Spyridon impressed in the junior divisions, with one title decided by a nail-biting penalty shootout.

Across the park, the Football Finals reflected the depth of talent and the spirit of competition within ISA schools.

Netball Finals

The ISA Netball Finals brought a full day of action, energy, and high-quality play across all age groups.

Oakhill College and Barker College produced a thrilling Division 1 final. In a fast-paced and fiercely contested match, Oakhill finished strongest to secure the title, showcasing composure under pressure.

Central Coast Grammar and Oakhill enjoyed success across multiple Opens divisions, while Barker dominated the Intermediate competitions with wins in Divisions 1, 2, and 3. Blue Mountains Grammar claimed the Inter 4 title, and St Andrew’s Cathedral School celebrated an all-SACS final in Division 5.

The juniors produced equally exciting contests. Chevalier College impressed with two titles, while Barker, Oxley, Redlands, Central Coast Grammar, and St Spyridon also claimed wins, highlighting the emerging depth of ISA netball.

From top-level Opens to enthusiastic juniors, the day was a showcase of teamwork, determination, and the passion of school netball.

Hockey Finals

The ISA Hockey Finals were played with speed, skill, and commitment across all divisions.

In the premier Division 1 final, Chevalier College took control in key moments against Oxley College to secure the championship. Their mix of attacking flair and defensive strength was the difference in a high-intensity clash.

Division 2 saw Barker College edge out Oxley in a tightly contested match, while Division 3 featured a dominant attacking display from Central Coast Grammar as they secured the title.

Overall, the Hockey Finals highlighted the continued growth of the sport within the ISA, with players delivering standout performances full of energy and school pride.

The 2025 Finals showcased the very best of ISA winter sport. Across Football, Netball, and Hockey, students competed with determination, schools celebrated success, and the values of teamwork, resilience, and community shone through every game.
