Finals Wrap-Up

Tennis

The ISA Winter Tennis Finals were held at Gosford Tennis Club over the weekend, bringing together schools from across the Association. Across 14 divisions, players showed skill, sportsmanship, and determination, with many matches going down to the wire.

The highlight came in Opens Division 1, where Oakhill College’s 1st IV and 2nd IV faced off in the final. The 1st IV proved too strong, taking the title 5–1 to claim the Division 1 Shield.

Other schools also enjoyed success, with St Andrew’s Cathedral School, Redlands, St Patrick’s, Chevalier College, and St Paul’s Grammar all winning titles in their divisions. The day reflected the depth of talent and commitment to tennis across ISA schools.

Semi Finals Recap

Hockey

The ISA Hockey Semi Finals were played at Ernie Smith Reserve, hosted by St Andrew’s Cathedral School. Teams battled for a place in next week’s grand finals, producing high intensity, strong defence, and plenty of goals.

In Division 1, Oxley College edged Redlands 1–0, while Chevalier College defeated Barker 6–2 to book their grand final spots.

Division 2 produced another set of close and competitive contests, with Oxley College and Barker College showing composure under pressure to secure their places in the final. In Division 3, attacking play was on full display. Central Coast Grammar impressed with their strength in front of goal, while Barker College demonstrated grit in a hard-fought win. Both teams will now meet in what promises to be an exciting final.

With Oxley, Chevalier, Barker, and Central Coast Grammar all progressing, next week’s grand finals promise an exciting finish to the ISA Hockey season.

Netball

The Rosewood Centre hosted a full day of ISA Netball, with schools competing across multiple divisions. Matches featured close finishes, standout performances, and strong school spirit.

In Opens Division 1, Oakhill College defeated Chevalier 48–39, while Barker claimed a 59–36 win over Oxley. Division 2 also delivered quality netball, with Barker’s 2nd VII overcoming Oakhill 40–30.

Chevalier College impressed at the intermediate level with a 47–20 victory over Redlands, while Barker’s Inter A side also performed strongly.

The Junior Division 1 final was one of the closest contests of the day, with Chevalier edging Barker 27–25. Central Coast Grammar also stood out with strong performances in the junior ranks.

The Championships once again highlighted the strength and spirit of ISA Netball, with schools showcasing talent across all levels.

Rugby

Bathurst came alive with ISA Rugby Finals, as schools battled across opens and age divisions. Matches ranged from nail-biting finishes to commanding displays.

In Opens Division 1, Oakhill College edged St Pius X 29–26 in a thrilling contest, while St Augustine’s powered past St Patrick’s 57–10.

The younger divisions also impressed. In the 16s Division 1, St Gregory’s beat Oakhill 19–17, while St Augustine’s defeated St Patrick’s 26–10. In Division 2, Oakhill held off St Stanislaus’ 20–19.

The 15s featured more close contests, with Oakhill edging St Stanislaus’ 15–10 and St Augustine’s defeating Kinross 29–21. In the 14s Division 1, St Patrick’s beat Oakhill 38–12, while St Stanislaus’ overcame St Augustine’s 13–5. The 13s saw wins for Oakhill and St Augustine’s in Division 1, with Central Coast Grammar and St Augustine’s also securing Division 2 victories.

From the 13s through to the Opens, the Finals reflected the depth, talent, and passion for rugby across ISA schools.

Football

The ISA Football Semi Finals were contested on Saturday 16 August, with boys’ and girls’ teams fighting for a spot in the grand finals.

In the Boys Opens Division 1, St Patrick’s College Strathfield defeated Central Coast Grammar 5–0, while St Pius X edged Oakhill 3–2.

In the Girls Opens Division 1, Redlands secured a 2–0 win over Oakhill, while Barker advanced with a 5–0 victory against Oxley. Both finals promise high-quality football.

Across the boys’ and girls’ divisions, matches showcased teamwork, skill, and resilience. Some were decided by narrow margins, while others saw commanding wins.

The stage is set for an exciting weekend ahead of ISA Grand Finals, with plenty of talent ready to shine.
